The reality is here in Australia, if you want to smoke weed, it's easy to get, the cops really don't care unless you're driving with it in your system or you are growing it in large quantities. Most states have quite lenient laws if you get caught with a small quantity, here in Victoria you get an official warning if you have less than 50g(i think that's the amount). The current status is the best option, being illegal and more expensive might act as a discouragement to some young mind.
As a society we shouldn’t broaden the range of 'bad drugs' - which includes alcohol and tobacco- by legalising others.
Just limit it to what the pro-druggies pushers use as justification as bad drugs of alcohol and tobacco
