From memory most bands and lending institutions hedge loan portfolios- because lithium is not yet traded on LME etc, it's not considered a freely tradable commodity and hedging I guess would be difficult. This is why I feel Hanks are reluctant to get involved- however, that said I do remember reading an article early last year that the LME intended to add lithium to its listings, so perhaps this is when the bank doors will be flung open. All IMHO- happy to be corrected
