Delving into the late night/morning (weekend) markets I get the sense that things are turning a little more bullish - and there's a lot of chatter about EVs and batteries. First, Powell, the Fed chairman, is intimating that there will be no further rate rises for 2019. Thing are looking positive for a resolution to the China/US trade war. China looks like implementing a stimulous package and their market is experiencing a return to bullish sentiment. The US shale oil boy's are saying they have to be a lot more nimble due to the rise of EVs. Big questions are being asked about what will happen to all the defunct batteries due to the mass uptake of EVs and household storage. Interesting chatter about the explosion of charging stations all over the world, and how it will change the dynamic of service stations and the new experiences needed to fill in the charge wait time. Generally speaking EV/battery sentiment is looking up and the public at large are beginning to accept that change is certainly upon us. Its most definitely becoming water cooler talk - even on the non stock related forums of HC (see 'General and Automobile forums). In short, the buzz is gathering pace. "Slowly, slowly catch the monkey."
