It's just funny how you noticed the orders going through at the very same second for the two companies.
I have ABS and AFG next to each other in my watchlist and I noticed the same thing between those two companies yesterday. I was wondering whether they might be having some fun in the office by pressing the "place order" button at the same moment.
I was considering writing a post about it but then thought that I might just be seeing things.
And yes, the big broking houses have flat fees rather than brokerage per trade....
