    my two bobs worth -

the ot pointed to jesus and his salvation all throughout especially through the feasts.

however moving to the nt he said, and was quite explicit, in that it was/is not the fathers will that any should perish but that all come to repentance.

he exposited that none can come to the father but by (through) him.

thus the way to salvation is belief in jesus not as a mere man or prophet but in his fulness as the son of god who left his first estate for the salvation of mankind and to those whom would accept it (including the birth death and resurrection).

heaven and hell were also subjects he preached about, much of which the audience were already familiar with.

regarding the "good person" narrative it doesn't stack up with what is taught by jesus and his apostles later. the fact is that hell is full of good people. what differentiates those who go to heaven is simply the acceptance of jesus and those that don't.

not to sound trite but there is a truth that has been explained and a "truth" that others teach. the truth is that there can only be one truth - and that truth is jesus
