I remember getting shares, since sold, in Highlands Gold from MIM in the late 90's. MIM did all the work in finding Ramu and Freida in the 80's and in the following 20 years of Highlands life, not much happened. Then and now the terrain was and is a pain, the grades good but not great.
5% plus a 10% kicker on the nickel price is a good return. I doubt HIG will survive, PNG i think would want the mine operating, irrespective of who owns it.
If anyone is interested ASX MYL has a really great base metal mine emerging. Mine is on track to start within 3 years.
