A few times the "lack of competing bid" has been raised in some posts. It is possible that there are numerous parties who now have access to detailed diligence information (from company advisors) and they are waiting for the GEAR bid to finish, final holding % etc, before making their move. To get a board recommended offer at low $1.xx is unlikely but it may turn into an active process.
