My broker was telling me that the ATO are indicating that this year they will be taking issue with people selling and immediately buying to realise a loss for taxation purposes just prior to the end of the financial year. So people might be realising their tax loss now instead of near the end of June. If the ATO are looking at people selling then immediately buying, any tax loss selling might not be covered by those sellers subsequent buying.
