I'd say the cure for economic rationalism is empathy. For me the race to the bottom began in 1996 when peddling mistruths for political advantage regardless of long term national interest consequences lifted to a higher plateau. Negative gearing, CGT and imputation reforms? These are all necessary reforms proposed by Labor "needed for the benefit of the country's citizens; things like education, health care, security, welfare, justice, infrastructure, investment." We have a distinct choice which future we want. The national interest or more of the same. Come away from the dark side and support getting the economy and its people back on track.
