You are correct on that one.
I can recall the Rudd government being warned about an east coast gas shortage when the Curtis Island LNG export project was just getting started. This was well before we had bans an onshore exploration in Victoria.
The feds claimed it was a state issue and ignored it. Arguably, it probably was a state issue at the time but look at kerfuffle that it has caused now for the whole national ( east coast ) grid.
Interestingly , I'm just looking at the WA grid now. Over half of WA's power is coming from wind and gas ( no pun intended) . So, emissions wise it looks like you're heading in the right direction without all the dramas that we have over here.
