Tony Abbott will not expose his major shortcomings by having to answer pertinant questions asked by anybody that applies scutiny. IMO anything that has the least chance of reinforcing his public image of being only of a shallow thinking caricature (that only operates at a tactical level) will be avoided like the plague.
He only knows how to play the game. It's a real shame some think it's enough.
