Good points, and at some stage they will need to be addressed,if for example the nation spirals into debt and welfare budgets are slashed.

But as is often the case with innovations, some forward-thinking people find ways or solutions and the mainstream follows. There are plenty of highly intelligent aboriginals and natural leaders will need to step up to find answers.

Someone mentioned in a thread that changing Australia day would be counterproductive to the political aims of some aboriginal activists--- as they would then need to address this more challenging issue, so we might get a few more years of Australia Day protests.

    From this link

People who identify themselves as 'Aboriginal' range from dark-skinned, broad-nosed to blonde-haired, blue-eyed people.

Aboriginal people define Aboriginality not by skin colour but by relationships.Light-skinned Aboriginal people often face challenges on their Aboriginal identity because of stereotyping.

    Three-part definition of Aboriginal identity

It took a 'Report on a Review of the Administration of the Working Definition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders' in 1981 to propose a new definition:

"An Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander is a person

of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent

who identifies as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and

is accepted as such by the community in which he (she) lives."
