No - didn't watch o'seas trades - no doubt you are watching golds stellar move as I write.
In my view it is the rise in the price of Black Gold that is driving Bullion higher. A hike in crude is no good for the recovery in the $USD or the US economy.
My view is that as a short term trade Gold producing stocks offer as good a leverage as oil stocks to a rally in oil because :
a. Bullion has been o/sold relative to Oil recently as the market anticipated a recovery in the $USD
b. Most OIL producers are trading at highs
If Gold plays catch up - Low cost producers will run hard - this obviously includes LGL.
THIS MEANS - Cha gets to go to Rio to do the Cha Cha Cha on the corcavada - then drink caipiringa on Copacabana - Then go looking for the girl from Ipanema . Could be a great year.
