That's a very pessimistic view. Shorters are just the flipside of your long positions. Shorters believe the price of an asset is overvalued. I've shorted gold, AUD and other ETFs many times before. Does that make me an immoral person? And if so, why? It's only immoral to people who get caught in overvalued assets in the first place, but really the frustration should be pointed towards yourself for a bad entry point (It does happen).
The only thing that is worn out on these forums is to blame shorters for any bad investment decisions. I don't think it cuts it and people need to take responsibility for their actions. This feels like crypto investors blaming mythical "Whales" that manipulated the crypto prices 90% lower.
