So we are "..complete idiot"s Skol,  and gold you indicate does not hold its value.  1970 $40 worth of gold worth a $40 note.   Today that $40 note is worth over $1300 in gold and the note geezzz, so the money under the bed as my Grandmother did is a huge loss....;
