Atomou, either we support the US along with the West or let it fall at some stage, in which case we have to start looking at alternatives. I agree they are far (very far) from a caring super power but the alternatives are too horrific to contemplate.
It is in our best interests to back them from a political point of view. I am not saying from a moral as sadly in world politics and history the moral position is never taken into account. They are simply the best ally we can hope for in our situation.
