Nobody said chips werent out with other potential partners beside universities.
I'd rather they didnt have an industry partner at this point. There is a tendency to just tailor the solution to the partner when you have that. Binding too soon means you may become less palatable to other potential buyers.
Not having an industry partner doesnt seem to have impacted progress in the least to date as well. Leti is also extremely well connected to STM and Intel.
