haka,
You keep missing the main point. The Indians have no concept of honesty and integrity as we know it. Their culture is different to ours. How can you do business with untrustworthy people like that? You can't.
Any number of scenarios can wreak havoc on your company due to the breaking of agreements, including but not limitted to:
- You give them the goods and they don't pay up (in time, or at all). This is blatant theft and violation of obligations. However, the indians obviously don't think so, since even THEIR GOVERNMENT practise this.
- You manufacture the goods and they don't want to buy anymore. You spend a lot of money to manufacture unsustainable volume based on the order received, only to find you can't offload it and have to buy inventory space to stash it while finding a buyer who you will offload it to for less than cost.
The local government of most countries will protect the foreign entity in order to attract even more foreign investments and broaden their financial activities. The indian government obviously haven't thought that far ahead. It's obvious you can't do business with such unehtical people.
