The amount of money he can make from ARV by being a crook is quite limited compared to his wealth, but the amount of honour he can bring himself by turning ARV around is worth much more. Why destroy your reputation over such a relatively small amount of money? He cound have left with DL if he wanted to distance himself from the current mess. By taking on the chairmanship he is owning any future mess.
I am going to go out on a limb here and say we will get a detailed development plan for ARV (most likely around CC) and the Sheikh will put in a sizeable chunk of his own money to enable it to be implemented. If he does this the SP of ARV will take off, he will look like a turn around hero, and he will make a lot of money.
