Ann: Quarterly Business Update and Appendix 4C, page-152

Everyone’s very quiet at the moment. Nothing happening so not unexpected. So, let’s start some discussion for the fun of it. Let’s do a bit of predicting. What does everyone think will happen to the sp for three different scenarios regarding the vaccine study? 1. Great announcement that they have shown amazing tumour responses to the vaccine, remembering that anything therapeutic is a long time away and many million dollars to get there, 2. A neutral announcement that there appears to be some effects but nothing very exciting  and 3. The vaccine had no effect on anything remembering that the core business of BD1 is diagnostics which is still well on track.
Do you think people have already factored in a bad result so not much will change re sp or are there a lot of people expecting a good result so will sell immediately?
My personal view is that anything other than a very good announcement will cause a sudden sell off which will
settle after a few days back to the current levels. Similarly, a great announcement will shoot the price up but once people realize anything therapeutic is years away the price will settle back down. Also, day traders will come in and pump the stock and then dump it after they have got their fill. Comments?
