I drove my brother's (Company vehicle) Toyota PRIRUS the day. City driving - 1000km from a 40 litre tank. A truely amazing vehicle (I have no connections to Toyota, lol)

Hybrids will be massed produced by all vehicle companies in the not too distant future, given current petrol prices. They will kick off as government vehicles, then company vehicles - then end up on the used car lot for private consumers.

Companies not producing hybrids will not be able to compete.

Prirus is $37,000 odd dollars at the moment. Do you remember the price of the first VCR / CD or
anything branded as new technology.

Thats my outlook on it, it's not if but when... hence the money spent on the Lithium battery technology. Lthium is the lightest metal, and retains the most energy.
