    MaximG,
Whilst I know you are new to shares, it is not a good idea to buy shares in companies you do not understand. CNP is a very complex model, you need to read previous ASX reports from CNP & build your own spreadsheets. Assets need to be broken down then valued allowing for various levels of decrease in asset values, i.e. Australian assets shouldn't be written down as much US assets. Determine capitalization rates for assets.
It will take hours of reading but you must be able to generate a range of NTA values & also a cashflow statement showing CNP's ability to repay outgoings like interest.
CNP is extremely challenging because it is not just one simple balance sheet but layers of investments which are all interlinked.
You need to find out what you have bought, its not as simple as $24b in assets & $18b in debts.
    Regards
    Buffett
PS No investment advice given on CNP, please do your own research.
