Apples,
Currently there are many good stories out there that need research & that will outperform CNP in the short term. Although I haven't posted on all of these stocks: AGS,ACB,BAU,RWD,GIR,MEE,UMC, all deserve some research for value investors. Its about opportunity cost i.e. where can I get the best value for my investment dollar.
It would be hard to argue CNP is the best in the market at present or that its performance so far this year was outstanding.
CNP value as an investment is related to its price i.e. how much do you have to outlay to get a satisfactory return given the risk factors involved.
Personally need very high returns from CNP to justify the risk, so would want to buy it at the lowest price possible. If CNP were selling for 15 cents I would sell some GIR/UMC because it would be very easy to double my funds. As stated previously I will be looking at CNP more closely late June with tax loss selling likely to give me an opportunity. In the mean time just trying to build the kitty elsewhere.
Regards
Buffett
