i view voter apathy and as the biggest threat to democracy.

just about every election I hear a smug voice say "I'm voting for (party leader)".  Normally for the ALP leader but I have heard it for Greens, ALP and Liberals.

when its before the election, most times I ask the question "who is your local representative", people can't answer. Very few can for the state level.

Most people don't even know who is on the ballot paper.  How could they make a sound decision?

Apathy is the real enemy of democracy.
