The biggest driver of this is IMHO, reflected in the one liner from Dines (thanks Dhuy for the link - I listened to these immortal words a couple of times since, they truly are history making, despite the fact that everyone knows it was coming just not when) - i.e. that the Saudis 'could not' (not would not) pump any more oil - hence suddenly the world (the US in particular) has to wake up and act. Hence, it doesn't matter what the price of U is today or this week, but it is important to lock in stocks and control the inventory as soon as they can, because a massive shift is about to occur in energy dependence across the globe. Anyone with a bucket full of the stuff is going to be a millionaire over night - everyone else will be scambling to buy it.
