there is a ten minute "pre open" auction at the beginning and end of the day where buyers and sellers enter their final trades which are settled using a 5 stage algorithm, which results in an adjusted price for the security. For example, at 4.00pm today MAK will close at say 2.15, and enter a 'pre open' phase. At 4.10pm the price will adjusted to say 2.17 or 2.12 to reflect excess volume on the buy or sell side.
