I think we established that in order for us to learn and be drawn closer to God, the Spirit of Truth either fills a man like Jesus, who is sinless, or is authoritatively passed on to the Apostles who go on to write the Gospels.
What the Spirit of Truth DOES NOT DO, is come and speak through you, me, or Steve or Bob, Bible or MrG. We are not the pure channel needed for the Spirit of Truth to talk through.
It requires another sinless man, like Jesus, to be the embodier of the Spirit, so that we can be guided unto ALL Truth.
The "we" as in you and I did NOT establish the context that you have relayed here, certainly not part of my creations.
But based on the Bible, I will tell you what I am seeing in your message here, you have put aside numerous Bible verses, messages to make room for you to add your Prophet into the picture, reasoning for. Sad part of if, you probably don't know it, or will not accept this as truth, your seeds are set, locked and loaded.
A key event achieved after Jesus --> Mark 15:38 - And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom. John 10:1 & 9 - Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. (The word of God). John 14:6 - Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
The way now was opened and Jesus in now the Door to God, not some future prophet as there was, is, No need for them as the Spirit of Truth, God will come to us and through this One Spirit, The Holy Spirit of God's, Jesus can and does come as well, to lead and guide us.
John 12:49 - For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. John 6:63 - It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words(Fathers) that I speak unto you, theyare spirit, and they are life. Hebrews 4:12 - For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
There are other verses with this Heb type language, but they only stand out, more so in the Greek, but I never made a note of them, so I can't quote them ATM. The Spirit, indwelling, two aspects, if you have the word of God in you, Truth and stand by it, you have the Spirit of God dwelling, in you and He IS The Holy Spirit, Spirit of truth.
Now in a prior post of yours, sorry but you came up with this creation (aid to include your prophet), that we needed to show verses that shows the Spirit of truth has a mouth and ears, sorry but that's a sad line to present, not of God, considering the numerous verses. (Having said that, you were given verses). Jesus in the following effectively knocks that one on the head. John 12:28 - Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, I have both glorified and will glorify again. The people therefore, that stood by, and heard, said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to him. Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes. In other words, Jesus himself does not need or necessarily get to hear a literal sound, for God, The Spirit of Truth to speak to him.
So to suggest this Spirit of truth has to come in a prophet, is NOT of God.
It requires another sinless man, like Jesus, --> Now I'm not going to quote the many verses on this area, but in many respects, or aspects, a statement like this suggest you lost the plot or never got many aspects of what Jesus did and achieved for us. Again, another statement of yours, to accommodate your prophet, your forcing him in.
John 1:33 - And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. John 4:2 - Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples.
Acts 2:38=39 - Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, as many as the Lord our God shall call.
Now we know Jesus has the Name --> The Word of God, meaning and representing one of the roles God planed and had him do. Hence being baptized in the name of Jesus, is being baptized in the word of God, Spirit of Truth and you will receive the Holy Spirit. The promise here is you will receive the Holy Spirit, which IS the Spirit of Truth, and shown to be in John Ch 14 & 16, Almighty God and Father.
Luke 11:13 - If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
Eph 5:18 - And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; 6:17 - And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 1 Cor 2:10 - But God hath revealed unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
John 17:20-21 -Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
Jesus pretty much contributed his efforts to God, so if one wasn't going to get the Spirit of God to one or some degree or another, Jesus's request here, would be like peeing in the wind, useless and a big mess haha.
Jesus was the Temple not built with hands, first example, set the stage of which the Word, Spirit of Truth dwelt in and 1 & 2 Cor makes it very clear, God and The Holy Spirit, ONE in the Same, will dwell in You --> the Holy Spirit.
For you to claim the Spirit of Truth was your prophet, YOU are claiming him to be God, no two ways about it.
The more I see of your faith, the more cunning it looks than the trinity creation, dressed in fancy cloths so to speak, which are soiled --> none truths. (Clothing, misuse of the full or truth of the fruit subject, as in, look at us, look at us). Your money is pretty much on your prophet.
