If last month's announcement about the cessation of mobile rollout by TPG hasn't diminished ACCC's hope of having a 4th mobile operator in Australia, today's announcement has well and truly killed this hope.

TPG will start recognising the massive writedowns in the value of its spectrum assets, mobile capex and capitalised interests in the upcoming H1 2019 result.

ACCC now really has no basis to oppose the merger between TPG & VHA. If somehow, they still oppose it, then I'm pretty sure TPG & VHA will take them to the court.

It's now less than 2 months away from the final decision by ACCC. I don't like the fate of my investment being decided in this manner, i.e. by a third party (ACCC). I will need to review my approach after the final decision is announced. In the mean time, I will continue to hold as I still believe the odds are in my favour.
