Yes I do belive it to be black and white but contemproary art is supposed to be both confronting and challenging IMO; this bloke has run the gauntlet on this for some time. If anything, I think the media has served its purpose for many to think of wider issues and to search for their own truths. I strongly believe in child protection but where is the sex in this? The intention of art does not always provide the sought outcome of the general will and neither should it IMO. Possible Miles is right, it may be all about context - I for one would not happily frame such a portrait and hang it on the wall, but I wonder if that was its purpose. Food for thought.
