The way I worked it out from his comments were:
1) Total taxable income $150,000
2) Dividend imputation credits $30,000
Given that imputation is at 30% that implies that $100,000 of the taxable income was in the form of dividends and the remaining $50,000 was from other sources.
So... you're both right:
@Cain Treanor used $100k from dividend and $50k non-dividend income, resulting in a refund.
You used $50k dividend and $100k non-dividend income, resulting in additional tax owing.
