    I did read of an American study which concluded that of those who set out to trade rather than invest only 10% made money. Of that 10% only 10% made money in sufficient quantity and regularly enough to do it as a fulltime job.
    So only 1% of wouldbe traders could make a living trading!

    The really frightening thing was that the study was conducted in 1999 when the US markets were on the razzle.

    However no mention was made of the size of the traders 'bank'. The most common reason for any small business failing is inadequate startup capital, and that may have been the case with a lot of the traders surveyed.
