According to todays press reports, ANZ has lost its bid for Wing Lung Bank, in Hong Kong. I understand this was central to their Asia expansion strategy.
Another nail in the coffin for the bank. SP down +2% today. If the SP breaks $20, its look out below. Me thinks that is where it is heading folks on the back of its rapidly deteriorating reputation.
I spoke to a businessman in Sydney today. ANZ had offerred him a business loan on competitive terms. He told them where to go and did the deal with another bank, even though the terms were less favourable.
ANZs downward spiral is finally beginning.
