Okay there is one thing that really irks me when I read these threads.... the use of a derogatory word/abbreviation when referring to the preferred OT party (the Japanese).

Japs is a word that was used by the Americans to refer to an enemy in a time of war some 70 years ago.

In case some ppl here didn't realise, the (majority of) Japanese find it a highly offensive term and I am cringing at the thought that maybe, just maybe they stumble across these threads and read AGY shareholders referring to them in this manner. Trust me it would leave a bad taste.

Given Japan is now Australian travellers no.1 destination I'm guessing many of us here have travelled to Japan in the past and experienced their incredible culture and the kindness/respect they show towards guests / foreigners. Honour & dignity are paramount to their culture and respect should be a two-way street.

Adding -’anese’ to ‘Jap’ is not that difficult and far more 'respectable'.

PS. Good to get an update, even it is only to appease the nervous nellies. Securing funding for this sort of project is no easy feat, but when you can say the proof is in the pudding, fewer hurdles are in front of you.
