That little forgotton gold mine has the potential to be Eldorado.

Nobody quite knows whats down there. However grades of 200g/tonne is what they are hoping for, and was frequently mined in the past.
The gold is nuggetty and runs in vertical quartz veins.
Imagine black rock to the left, white quartz in the middle and more black rock to the right. The gold sits largely on the boundaries of where the two types of rock meet.
There is also some gold in the quartz as well.
The Quartz Vein is typically 1-3m wide.

Because the nuggets can just exist, or not exist in the space of a few metres its hard to estimate how much gold is down there.

You could chip away at that quartz vein for 1m and get 20,000g per tonne. Then the next 20m of vein you might get virtually zip. This is labour intensive mining, you need good grades. You never know which part of the vein will be productive.

Some numbers have been bandied around.
Talk of around $20-25M per year profit if all goes well for the gold.

History tells us the gold veins at Maldon were very rich.
Great promise, eventually this could be over 2 Million Oz.
