    Hi Folks,

The following are some quotes taken from the anti-Henson posts on HC. At best, some appear tasteless, at worst they appear to be promoting violence and the objectification of women. "Let he who is without sin . . . . "

As for the lawyers! I bet they're the first in the queue for a perv!

He should be locked up, her parents should be dragged behind the shelter shed and flogged to a pulp.

Lock him up and let the other prisoners sort him out. I heard they love art like this...LOL. The good thing is we would never hear from him again.

    Hurl him into a cell!

He really should be locked up. They know how to deal with his sort behind bars.

let's get rid of him, like Hitler did to all contemporary Artists in Germany (he preferred more traditional art, like his own), during his reign.

    and hopefully a nasty gaol

There are plenty of women available around... go and get them mate....

PHYSICALLY talking, I like women that have the package

Meanwhile on this thread we have one poster whose signature includes a photograph of a fetishised, provocative, young female. The photograph appears to objectify this woman as a sexual object and the photographer's intention would appear to be purely to arouse prurient interest in the photograph. I wonder how old the female is who posed for this photo? Does anybody know? Did anybody question this?

Perhaps the poster included this signature photo as an ironic statement on the whole thread.

I notice, with some dismay, that not one of the anti-Henson lobby has raised an objection to this photograph - yet his photographs appear to me to be quite innocent and artistic compared to the prurient content of this particular photo.

Quite extraordinary, really, that Henson's photos can cause such outrage yet this photo passes without comment. Yet it is sitting right there in front of the posters.

May I suggest that we all should contemplate the following quote. I wonder how many could take something from it? I hope some could.

"How is one to live a moral and compassionate existence when one is fully aware of the blood, the horror inherent in life, when one finds darkness not only in one's culture but within oneself? If there is a stage at which an individual life becomes truly adult, it must be when one grasps the irony in its unfolding and accepts responsibility for a life lived in the midst of such paradox. One must live in the middle of contradiction, because if all contradiction were eliminated at once life would collapse. There are simply no answers to some of the great pressing questions. You continue to live them out, making your life a worthy expression of leaning into the light." Barry Lopez, "Arctic Dreams".

With best wishes to all, Pro and Anti,
    Red
