    They may have given the SRK guys the EXPECTED numbers on logistics WNG but one cant assume these will be the final numbers espc in the context of a skyrocketing fuel price.Ergo why they havnt released these numbers to market.But yes Id like to know too!

    You MIGHT be able to use iron-ore shipping rates WNG but I doubt it.

    The zinc concentrate will be bagged,and I assume containerised in a sealed container,as there are now stringent regs on transporting zinc concentrates as not only is the zinc toxic at these concentrate levels but invariably it contains mercury at an elevated as well, which wreaks havoc with marine life if the ship was to go down.So much depends on what the loading and shipping of such containers across the Atlantic and at such a weight, costs.

    The main reason you would not be able to equate these zinc shipping costs with iron ore costs would also be that iron ore is bulk carried within the hull of the ship.As a result one would think iron ore is cheaper to transport per tonne than Zn concentrate.Then one has the distance factor which would be heavily tied to the price of fuel...da da da da da da.Is it ay wonder offtakes/logistics take so long to work out.Lets hope they wernt waiting for the logistics market to get cheaper!!!

    The only people that could tell us a CURRENT ball-park figure would be Aim or the logistics carriers and I dodnt think they are going to say!The only way we might eventually find out will probably be via a broker report like the 06 Lonsec one.But then even brokers sometimes dont like to divulge too much for whatever the reasons;-)
