I'm sorry to point out, Baron1, I did not use those quotes to defend pornography or Henson in particular. I said they were quotes from the anti-Henson posts.
The statement I made was that the quotes were at best tasteless, advocated violence and the objectification of women. I stopped short of saying that murder was advocated but now I will say it.
Yes, you must think I'm an idiot if I don't know who originally framed the quote about throwing the first stone.
And I am sure Jesus would not be advocating that any person for any reason should be taken by a lynch mob behind a shelter shed and beaten to a pulp.
Can't you see that that is simply advocating murder. It is against all the values at the base of our justice system which is essential to the continuation of our democratic society and all the values which underpin it.
It is also against the values for which Jesus stood. The Old Testament is about the Retributive God and an eye for an eye justice.
The New Testament, to which the teachings of Jesus are central, is about love, compassion and forgiveness - not summary execution of those deemed unworthy by unconstituted self-proclaimed guardians of public morals. Such acts are, to put it bluntly, MURDER. I'll say it again so you understand. SUCH ACTS ARE MURDER. This is what was advocated in one post.
And you defend that.
