Glencore holds an asset that IMO would potentially propel Aurelia Metals into the top echelons of an Australian Tier 2 miner.
The CSA mine, a mature but extremely rich copper mine, would allow Aurelia to further consolidate the Cobar region and drive down costs and increase efficiencies. The combined Cobar assets of Hera, The Peak and CSA would simply be an intoxicating money printing machine.
I always hoped AMI would get a chop at this asset. I wondered why a multi-national conglomerate like Glencore would want to operate a single stranded asset in far western NSW.
Glencore leaving dissipates the slight chance of this outcome.
