The average Australian buy's 1 house that becomes their home for life the actual value of it really doesn't matter so much, they have no intention of selling it. Those that got greedy and bought 10 up to the hilt with dreams of much much higher property values like tulip mania negatively geared with little room to move, sure they might get a smacked if prices tumble by 30% ….. but others could say they shouldn't have been so greedy to start with piling in money they never really had and "dreaming" of prices that would put first homebuyers well out of the market.
