Well the king maybe right but what if he is wrong and they find all the good oil in africa and even off our extended coastline,by the time he wants to retrieve what he hides,there maybe a new fuel source (even though I think we maybe still oil dependant to a degree).so you can say his loss or the worlds good fortune too,but alternative fuels will be found.
