I have answered it indirectly.
The issue is this.....what if it was me that brought this about? What if it was I who brought about this situation, as a retaliation, upon myself, family, friends and followers?
My opponents retaliated against my behaviour, lash out, then I feel vindicated to fight back? When I was the problem in the first place.
Nobody persecuted Mohammad at first. He was dismissed as a half mad street corner preacher. Nobody took him seriously until he began to be a problem.
