To others who share his similar mindset/investments, keep in mind any Co with ambitions to become a future briner who has their hopes of developing a chemical process solution that is reliant on a 3rd party's unproven 'blackbox' tech, is going to struggle regardless of whether it is eventually proven. You don't think the 3rd party is going to want a significant slice of the pie if a company wants to license their tech/IP...??
Sentient/Rincon Ltd have spent north of 280m USD to date trying to come up with an alternative/blackbox process solution. How has that worked out for them ? All their previous Mgt & processing experts have moved on, jumped from a sinking ship perhaps ?
Ask yourself why all current brine producers use evaporation ponds ?
SQM/ALB/Livent all have serious $$$ available to them to pump into new processing tech RnD... why do they persist with current processing methodology ? Because it works....
Ganfeng and LAC... why are they building ponds I wonder ??
