I don't have any loyalties to any type of generation at all.
I'm for the best version. Previously and currently fossil has been the power source of choice and it has served us well. However, it is now being superceded by renewables. The bonus is that we can do it progressively and smoothly. There is now plenty of physical evidence that renewables can progressively replace fossil and it is the best, cheapest option by far.
You are basing your claim on the Minerals Council study ? Could you be any dumber ?
Clearly you haven't read that study. Here's a couple of quotes from your link.
