Generation loyalties? We talking party loyalties as you know. Question avoided again. I suggested you are a Bill Shorten flag waver.

If you read beyond the first paragraph rolleyes.png

"GHD tries to get around this by adapting the PEACE database, which uses average US plant building costs and multipliers for other countries, and applying multipliers for Australia's high costs obtained from local engineering firm Worley Parsons.

It comes up with costs of about $US2.1 billion per 1000 megawatts of capacity, or about $2.8 billion. But these costs exclude project development, finance and legal fees, and interest during construction. Australia is famous for delay and "lawfare" (my point!) , so this is a big exclusion.

As I said, it wouldn't matter if the costs were half, you'd still be pushing the renewables wagon. We CANNOT rely on renewables alone.

If HELE coal is so bad, why are other countries embracing it? New coal fired power stations - over 100 in China and India alone

Why is it causing a rift in the coalition? This will be one of, if not the major issue in the coming federal election.

We are a small nation with very little global impact. We either want to be a modern economy, or a vegan backwater.

Lastly, you're not entirely flameless yourself...
