I only need to show you the fact that its because the Arabs were united under the Caliphate that enabled societal structures such as the House of Wisdom to be created. Scientific progress comes from the "structure" that Muhammad introduced by uniting the tribes. Scientific progress was not coming from the "chaos" that was present by the warring Arabian tribes. Name me one scientific discovery that a warring tribe of Arabia brought about and I will show you hundreds of discoveries brought about by the non-warring united Caliphate which was a direct result of Prophet Muhammad.
Centuries later and things are no better, arguably worse, is rather more than a mere click of a finger. Muslims are being killed by other Muslims over issues of faith.
First you need to acknowledge what I wrote above about the Golden Age of Islam, then you will appreciate the rise and decline cycles of religious Dispensations and how they foster the coming forth of a new religious Revelation which will progress things again. Islamic Revelation, societal rise, decline, Baha'i Revelation, societal rise, (and one day things will slightly decline again), etc etc Rise, decline, new Revelation, rise, decline, new Revelation, etc etc Were it not for Islam, the Baha'i principles would not be the source of sustained change anywhere.
