Kam, Islamic apologists seem to like emphasizing a golden age of Islam, but even if the achievements of this age are not exaggerated, what is the point as this golden age is truly gone - finished, finito, Islam is hardly moving into an age of enlightenment, but don't tell them as they may wish to kill you for saying so. You mentioned that Islamic law is not something to be encouraged or words to that effect. Today the Bahai Faith is hardly a force in the world, and certainly not the only hope. There are models that are more effective such as those practiced Scandinavian countries. Potential is developed and human capacity is increased g r a d u a l l y.........sometimes 2000 years in Israel and another 2000 years in Arabia . I don't know about the time frame, but agree that Israel, which you many not find on a Middle Eastern map, is far ahead of Arabia. Not too many Israeli Muslims are bending over backwards to move to Islamic Arabian countries - and for good reasons.

If it promotes wellbeing, the Scandinavian model is one that I can comfortably support. The reality is however, that the Scandinavian model is atheistic. As much as some may wish to shout and scream, the world is predominatly theistic and so the Baha'i Faith offers a model that enables theism and atheism to thrive without hindering societal wellbeing.
