GRANTING OF MINING RIGHT FOR TORMIN ZIRCON PROJECT - UPDATE
On 4 March 2008 the Company announced that it had received notification from the Department of Minerals and Energy of the Republic of South Africa that the Mining Right over the Tormin Mineral Sands project has been granted to its South African subsidiary Mineral Sands Resources Pty Ltd.
The final copy of the Mining Right was to be signed on 25 April 2008, along with the Environmental Management Plan, with representatives of the Company being present. The Company further advised in its March 2008 quarterly report that the Mining Right was expected to be signed in May 2008.
The Company is currently reviewing its options in regards to its Black Empowerment Partner (BEE) for this project due to the failure of its existing partner to meet its contractual and funding obligation. The company is liaising with the Department of Minerals and Energy in this regard. This matter is expected to be clarified in June with the Granting of the Mining Right to proceed once finalised.
