And I have tried to explain to you that Nelson Mandela was acting on his own behalf. He would have acted differently if women and childrens lives were being threatened. He would have done anything he could have within his power to defend them. There is a difference between ethics for myself, an individual, and ethics for the protection of others, or societal ethics, or governmental protection ethics.

That comment just demonstrates how little you know about the anti-apartheid struggle. Nelson Mandela had 6 children and was married during the period of his detention; the families of those in detention, including Nelson Mandela, were under constant threat and severe harassment. He was arrested for treason for his anti-apartheid activities. As a lawyer he acted often with little reward for the disadvantaged. When released he advocated reconciliation and forgiveness rather than retribution which probably spared a great deal of blood shed.

You, like DBT9 seem to be happy to softly and meekly turn away from protection of children and other defenceless individuals.

I have been reading the interchanges between you and DBT and know that you are making that up. In any case if the founder of your religion is really Jesus Christ he should also be advocating the "turning of the other cheek".

I justify Muhammad's actions because He is being vilified for defending women and children who were being killed by the clans and tribes of Arabia. Muslims had never killed or harmed one soul before Summayah and Yasir Ibn Amir were murdered.

And his actions were never against those who rebutted his attempts to spread his religion - really, tell me another one. Read what the Koran has to say about the matter. I have already posted some verses for your education.

There is no greater harm done than by good people doing nothing in the face of evil done to others .

Thank you. Nelson Mandela did not sit on his hands doing nothing. What he did for others was at great personal risk. The world was lucky that he was not sentenced to death - it was very close to happening.
