makattack - thanks for your response, no intention to be aggressive, we are all friend here...aren't we? i agree though this issue does appear to lend itself to a 'robust' tone.

i suspect no one would argue that class actions are a good thing so lets not waste our energy on that one.

the issue is how to accurately rate the financial impact of class actions, and what if any short term impact there should be on the shareprice.

i wouldn't have a clue about that issue, but i do know about is class actions (both here and in the US where they originated and where they have been thriving for decades).

i take it you now concede there are no class actions like this that have reach trial. from a legal standpoint, and please tell me if there is a more relevant standpoint......this a MASSIVELY important issue. that is becuase if there is no judgement there is NO legal precedent, only litigation speculators who settle for a fraction of their claim amount.

not only is there no precedent, there is no directly comparable case that has been commenced/settled that i am aware of.

to a lawyer, all the cases mentioned have different facts to CNP and are not really relevant ....other than to evidence the growing tend for people to run corporate class actions. willingness to sue and strength of claim are very different issues.

one point that no one seems to recognise is liability INSURANCE INSURANCE INSURANCE INSURANCE INSURANCE. these class actions are most likely insured against by Centro. in that case will cost Centro very little, perhaps the cost of its insurance deductible/excess.

who on Hot Copper has factored the insurance point yet?

do you makattack recognise the INSURANCE point (and if not why not?), and if so, have you factored it into to your impact on share price analysis? if i am wrong i would like to learn.

    cheers
