if you read history and actually try to 'understand' it - you will find that multiculturism does actually work very well in the vast majority of cases.

where we see peace - we see multiculturism at work - where we see war - war is 'mostly' driven by economics --- reference ANY history book.

there are cases where wars have been fought on racial grounds and religious grounds - but, generally there's an economic driver behind it.

Even with the most recognisable character in recent history who wanted to have a 'pure' race -- ie. Hitler -

he came from an 'economic' drive - and, that was the depression of Germany from the post WW1 treaty which put such economic pressure on Germans - it allowed a nutter to rise to power.
Now - he WAS a nut - but, he used the economics as the tool and it was the actual driving force, until he got power, then the nuttiness took over completely.

Look at Australia - post 1788.

We have a land then (after that) occupied by Brits -- Brits ARE multicultural - they have been that for thousands of years.

Then Australia has waves of immigration - including larger amounts of Italians and Greeks, more British, later Vietnamese etc. ---

is it not crystal clear that within say 50 years that they are very obviously Aussie??????

Is is not clear that Aussie women breed and love men from Italian Greek, Vietnamese, Scottish, Irish, English etc heritage?

Ditto Aussie men and women from different cultural and racial backgrounds?????????

The evidence is before our eyes.

What history tells us is you have different mechanisms - sometimes war and sometimes peaceful -

take for instance Vikings - they float on in - they are violent - then, they settle in - after a while - they aren't Vikings anymore - they are whatever the place is that their fathers came to -

it's multiculturalism - and, it works.

What comes along that you see that makes you think it doesn't work are two things -- one is war - which is mostly economic - almost always and also, some integration problems through history - like stirring a new ingredient into a mix - sometimes you get some lumps - but, if you keep stirring - everything becomes smooth and blended.

As you say multiculturism has worked a treat. Is it a case of it HAS worked a treat but is now failing. It worked well in the past because the migrants saw the value of being an "aussie" and became fair dinkum Aussies. They waned to fit in and worked hard to do just that.

The case now with the muslims is that they want this aussie society to become a muslim society or at least that is how most are seen by the "other" most. That is how I see he situation. They want to be "different", they want Australia to be different.
